One More Circle Around the Sun

I hope that you are all enjoying your New Year’s Eve.

It’s a quiet, reflective night for me.  I still feel that I am processing all that took place in 2015 and wrapping my mind around the year ahead.  What obstacles am I facing and how will I overcome them?  What would I like to challenge myself with in 2016?  What would I like to change? And what would I like to achieve?

There is much to consider and much to feel hopeful for.  After all, I am the creator of my life and I am proud of the choices that I have been making.  I can say that honestly as I conclude this year, and that feels good.  I am blessed in so many ways and I truly feel hope that we are moving towards a brighter world – we are building that world together – despite what the current circumstances may sometimes look like.

Without a doubt, Body & Brain Yoga, The Earth Citizen Organization, The International Brain Education Association, Tao Fellowship, and Power Brain Education – all the organizations that I support and love – will continue to charge forward to bring true health, happiness and peace to this planet.  So, what better moment is there than this one?

There is a musician who I really love.  Have you heard of Peter Mayer?  His music is sweet and full of feeling, and his lyrics always stir deep places in my heart.  I wanted to finish this year with sharing one of his songs with you.  I dedicate it to all of us 🙂

Let’s breathe out 2015 with a smile and welcome in 2016 with open, joyful arms.

Happy New Year ~ !

Joy to the World

Today was a happy day.

We gathered together at the Memorial Stadium in Seattle, right next to the Space Needle, to build a human banner!

The event was hosted by ECO (Earth Citizen Organization), and was put together by some of our local students who wanted to bring people together to create JOY ~ literally 🙂

Approximately 50 people sat and lied down on the ground, bundled in their winter coats and hats, while a drone flew overhead snapping shots of them.

I was blessed to be asked to lead a short meditation, so I got to see the whole thing from the press box!  When I clicked on the microphone to speak, I was almost in tears feeling the sincere hearts of all the participants who had come out into the cold afternoon in the name of something big and beautiful.  I could feel that everyone who was there, was there because they had a dream in their hearts. A dream to really truly create a joyful world.

In our meditation I guided them to open themselves up and feel themselves as part of nature – to feel the wind and the trees, to smell the earth.  And then to further open their hearts and let their love and light spread out across the planet to people everywhere, of all nations, races & religions.  Finally, they ended with a group hug, then burst into a mini dance party.  It was definitely a joyful day all around 🙂

I am thankful to ECO for having such a Great Cause under which we could make such a unique event.

I am thankful to Brianna Sieberg who was the captain of it all, and put in a huge amount of effort to make it all happen.  It began as a wish in her heart and she made it happen in reality, and I am proud of her for that.

I am thankful to Seattle Yoga News for taking interest and coming to take a bunch of pictures, and to Benny the DJ for rockin’ the house.

And most of all I am thankful to the bright and pure spirits who created JOY together! I am sure that their good vibrations reverberated around the globe!!!

Thank you!

Thank you so much to any and all who took part in the process of supporting me to win the Seattle Yoga Teacher of the Year for 2015!

It was a surprise and an honor to receive it!!

I began 2015 by calling it the year of “New Beginnings” and it truly has been.  It started with this blog and has wound it’s way all the way to this award.  Along the road I met many wonderful new people, developed bright relationships, and was met with many gifts and unexpected delights along the way.  It feels as though it was truly a year of opportunity and the start of something new.

I feel like Heaven itself was winking at me this year, as I had finished the year 2014 with an explosive crash, and a bruised heart to show for it.  It seems like we really have to hit the bottom sometimes to jump up up up!

Every day, every moment, is a chance to begin again.  I declare to myself today that 2015 is the year of new beginnings that marks the start of a life lived with new beginnings at every turn.

Why not ?! 😀

Below are two links: one is to my video interview on Seattle Yoga News. They are doing such great work for the Seattle Yoga Community so I wanted to share it with you all too!

The other is a song that I love.  It lights up my heart every time I hear it and I hope that you find inspiration from it as well!
