Self-Mastery Class

Hello Everyone!  I have a new idea   🙂

In response to my Belly Button Healing class, I heard from some of you that you didn’t feel it was the right fit for you.  As I contemplated more deeply on it, I thought that perhaps you are looking for something a little more self-reflective and maybe in line with much of the other education and content that I usually post on this blog.

So, I came up with a new idea.  Well, to tell you the truth, it’s an old idea that I just haven’t actualized yet and decided that now is the right timing!

I have been wanting to create an online class called Self-Mastery, based on the same concepts and practices that I use in my Self-Mastery Class in the center.  For Self-Mastery we first need self-management and we need self- healing.  I feel that we need to continuously repeat self-management and self-healing over and over again until we begin to experience mastership over ourselves. To heal ourselves is to know ourselves.  To come to know ourselves we must awaken ourselves again and again.  Thus, Self-Mastery class is about awakening ourselves through various principles and practices which I have received from my teacher, Ilchi Lee, as well as many mentors over the years.   It is a course to help you to get closer to yourself and to begin to manage your inner world, to have a healthier relationship with yourself and to ultimately learn how to live in more alignment with your true self.

I have been teaching the Self-Mastery Class at the Ravenna Park Body & Brain Yoga Center for almost two years now and have seen great results in the students. I have taught similar courses in New York and in New Mexico and witnessed the same benefits there. It’s a class that seems to help people really integrate principles into their lives and experience concrete changes.

In a way, it’s kind of like this blog in the format of a class.   When I say that, I mean that I will just share what I have awakened to and digested myself, as best as I can, in various ways to help you to have your own self-awakenings.  The benefit of the class is that we get to add in the practice portion – a lot of tapping exercise and some training with the Healing Life Tool, etc.

Yes, that is where the Healing Life tool comes in.  In my Self-Mastery class at the center all students must now have a tool and bring it to the class each time.  So, I thought this would be a better way of introducing the tool to all of you – by mixing it into the content of the Self-Mastery class.  That will be the best of all worlds, I believe.

In my center, this is a 2 hour class that costs $500 for 12 sessions.

However, I want to begin online with a pilot project.  Therefore, for this first group who participates, I want to offer 10 Self-Mastery Classes for one hour each, the cost being only the cost of the Healing Life tool: $108.40.  We can call this, “Intro to Self-Mastery Class: The Online Version”  🙂

I would still like to begin late in September and meet on Monday nights @ 6pm PST.  I want to ask for those who are interested to go ahead and get the tool because sometimes it is delivered to your home quickly and other times it takes longer.  So please purchase that through the link:  and let me know when you have done so. Then, I will include you to the class roster.

Ok, now I really hope to see many of you there!  You will experience a lot of growth and self-development through this class!  Ah yes, I forgot to add that to the above list:  Self-Healing –> Self-Development –> Self-Management –> Self-Mastery.  Repeat, repeat 🙂

Please feel free to post here or contact me if you have any questions.  I hope to see you soon!

3 Main Desires

Let’s think of our inner world like a tree, for a moment (quite appropriate for this blog :))

From one perspective, the leaves become the many many thoughts in our mind – in all of their varying colors, shapes and sizes.   Look a little deeper and you will see that those leaves are connected to branches, and we can consider those branches to be our emotions.  All of our leaf-thoughts are sprouting from our emotions.  Now, go even deeper and you will find two main branches, connecting everything to the trunk, the root of the tree.  I want to call this area our 3 main desires.  I say that because all of our leaf-thoughts and emotion-branches can be traced down to these 3 desires.  They are essentially the root of it all.  If you are aware of them, then it will help you to observe yourself that much more deeply.

So…..what are the 3 main desires?

  1.  The Desire for Recognition.  When I say “recognition” here I don’t just mean receiving awards, achievements and fame.  We desire recognition in SO MANY ways. To be loved and approved of.  To be seen, heard and understood. To be praised. We desire to receive energy and attention from those we like and love – a look, a touch, a nod, a note, a phone call….an email….a Facebook like….the list goes on and on.  And sometimes we even desire to get some of that from those we hate.  If you think about how you feel when someone you love has ignored you or shunned you in some way – even the slightest of ways – then that will be a shortcut to the bubbling up of countless painful emotions and insecure thoughts.  Then you will begin to understand this tree analogy that I’m speaking of.
  2. The Desire to Control. Some people know straight out that they have issues with control. Perhaps they have a controlling, domineering personality. Or perhaps they have OCD and feel the need to control their surroundings. I, for instance, am a person who for a long time thought she had no desire to control 🙂  Hahaha!  That’s because I do not have either of the above personality types and had not yet observed myself deeply enough to discover where my desire to control was rearing it’s head.  Over the years I have uncovered it in unexpected places! Such as worry.  I have had a tendency to worry about things that I have no control over as a way of trying to grasp for some sort of control. Like turbulence on an airplane, to give a small example.  And as I have looked even deeper, I have found that desire in the bottom-most part of my heart, related even to the instinct to protect myself from being hurt by others.
  3. The Desire for Safety. I often feel that this desire is even at the root of all 3 main desires.  Why do I want to be recognized?  To keep my ego safe. To protect my worth and value. Why do I want to control? Again, to keep my ego safe, or my space, my possessions and finances, or my LIFE! Ultimately, this finite body that we live in doesn’t want to end, so anything that may threaten that activates our desire for safety.  And in our current world, it seems like everywhere you turn there is a threat.

So I invite you to look closely at yourself – which of your 3 main desires are affecting you at this moment?  If you look into any of the issues in your life that you may be struggling with right now, then you will find one of them at the root.  You might even find a couple of them or all of them, as they are often intertwined.  What would be the use of looking into that?  It’s not to create more suffering for yourself.  When you discover the root of your problem, then you can alleviate the agony of all the emotions and endless thoughts sitting on top of that desire, and you can just come face to face with the truth inside of you.  When you face it and accept it, then you can relax, calm down your mind, and sometimes you can even find the solution to your problem.

For instance, sometimes I call my best friend and I find myself being negative and complainy.  Whenever that happens I’m always like, “Why did I just do that?  That’s not me.  That’s not who I want to be or how I live my life.” If I’m honest with myself then I can see clearly that this is just an old habitual way of getting energy for me.  From a very young age I learned the power of receiving attention through being negative, emotional and dramatic, and it’s a habit I have spent my adult life breaking.  Aha! This is my desire for recognition!  So, if I just know going into my next conversation that I want some loving attention from my friend, then I can just ask her for it, cant I?! Or I can approach the conversation differently, knowing that positive attention will make my heart feel so much happier than negative attention in the end.  As I always say, if I know myself, then I can better heal myself, heal my relationships and heal my life.

Therefore, I am inviting you to observe yourself more closely.  If you do that well then every day, all day long, you will find your 3 main desires rolling over and over again inside of you.  You may be overwhelmed by this but don’t worry!!!!  This is VERY human. Because we have a body, we have these 3 desires.  We only have to know how to see them so they don’t control us.  Then, we have to accept them. And eventually we need to discover the way to go beyond them.  This, I will talk about in my next post :0)

Until then, please discover how these desires are playing out inside of you.  And feel free to share your observations in the comments.  I look forward to your sharing! Happy watching ~ 🙂

Online Class

Hello! It’s been a while!

Some of you asked about me because I hadn’t written in a while…thank you for all of your sweet hearts and loving minds!  I am actually doing very well. 2016 has been a special year in my life.  It sort of feels like flowers are finally blooming in a garden that I have been tilling for a long long long time without much reward and with a lot of hardships.  It is truly joyful to see those flowers appearing!  And as I know the great transience of life, I know that this time will not last forever, so I am trying to enjoy it and embrace it fully while it is here.  Although I don’t always get a chance to write, this blog and my readers are always in my heart.  You, too, are flowers in my garden 🙂

I’d like to try to offer an online class again for any of you who are interested in working with me.  It may come as no surprise, but in this class we will feature belly button healing and all of it’s amazing benefits.  I literally spent all of July talking about belly button healing, reading about it, watching videos about it, practicing it myself and teaching others how to do it…I have come to have great conviction and understanding about the Healing Life tool and all it can do for our body, mind and spirit.   Then recently I thought, “I would like to be sharing this information and practice with my blog friends and all of the people who cannot go to Body & Brain Centers!  It’s finally time to begin a class again!”

In this class I will offer 10 sessions.  According to who joins the class I will try to find the best time that fits us all, but I am thinking Monday nights at 6pm – the same as I did for the Solar Body class.   I will go over many of the benefits of belly button healing and teach various ways of how to use it.  The class will consist of each individuals sharing, some education and some practice.

In order to participate, everyone will need a Healing Life tool.   This comes in a kit with a book, a pouch and access to an online class.  The total cost is approx. $108.  You can order the Healing Life tool at

I am also thinking that leading this class through will be an easier way to do it than through Skype group chat, as we did previously.  So, in order to take the class, you will also need to have a membership there to access the online room.  If that’s too difficult for you all, then we can rearrange it, but I believe it is really the easiest way.

Ultimately, I am offering this because I have found the Healing Life to be a truly powerful yet simple tool that connects people to their bodies. I have grown to really be amazed by it’s benefits and I want to share it with all of you.

Please contact me by email or by Facebook or by leaving a comment here to let me know if you are interested in participating.  It will take some time for the tools to arrive to you so we will not be able to get started until the beginning of September.  I will be waiting eagerly to hear from you!

With Love ~ Danielle
