It’s been a really long time to write a blog post.  I feel that I have missed this space to get cozy and share from my heart!

I have been busily consumed with my own self-development these days.  For me, each day that I run my center, each person and situation that I meet, each challenge that I face (inside or outside), each choice that I make, are all part of cultivating my body, mind and spirit in some way.   They are all opportunities to look at something, strengthen something, change something, awaken to something new.  And it seems that recently, I have been quite consumed by this process and unable to digest it all in time to be ready to write a post when the small window of time available to write presents itself.

However, I wanted to make sure to take a moment to post an update regarding my book-happenings.

As many of you know, I had applied for the Hay House contest to try to win a publishing contract with Hay House, or at least a self-publishing package with Balboa Press.  Thank you so much to all who supported me in that effort by submitting your emails and/or sharing ideas in various ways.  I want you to know that I am grateful to each and every one of you.

I was notified on February 28th that I was not the winner  of any of these prizes.  I accepted this quickly, as I was truly just happy to complete my work of applying for the contest in 2016, and I knew that it meant that it is now time for me to make a decision about my next step.

I have been “chewing” on it for a while now.  Still chewing, actually 🙂  Recently I was in Sedona at the Mago Garden Retreat Center, and the message to me while I was there was that I definitely need to proceed with the project, even if it’s just a slow plodding forward.  I spoke with the woman who runs the publishing company for Ilchi Lee’s books here in America and her advice to me was, “Complete the manuscript first and send it to me and then I can give you a good recommendation.”

Soooo…… I think that’s what I’m going to do.   Although the thought of it is quite daunting, and the energy in my life right now is not exactly flowing that way, I’m going to do it.  I don’t know how long it’s going to take, but I’m going to do it.

I am going to use this as an opportunity to truly do it the way I want to do it, since I no longer have to worry about following any rules or guidelines that a publishing company might put on me.  In my heart, I really have always wanted to write a book of vignettes and assorted pieces of prose poetry.  So perhaps my book will come out that way, which makes my heart light up just imagining it.

I may end up going the e-book route, or there is a small possibility that I may do a kick starter to help me raise funds so that I can again try to self-publish with Balboa Press.  Whatever it may be, I will keep you posted.

That’s the status for now.  I wanted to share a simple update, as I had previously mentioned that I would know at the beginning of the year the results of the contest.

I also wanted to thank you again for your continued support, and I am open to hear any of your ideas or suggestions anytime.  I may not always act on them, or act on them right away, but it’s good to plant the seed.

And, hopefully I will be back to writing a little more consistently in this blog. But, if not, good luck with all of your own self-development journeys in the meantime!  Each time we change, grow, brighten, develop and awaken ourselves, we are creating more light and a brighter vibration for the planet.  Never forget how important your choices are!

Blessings to all ~

20 Thoughts.

  1. Dear Danielle,

Obvisiouly this is the way it has to be. Giving you the time and opportunity you need, where you can set the conditions and starting at the point when you are ready to start it.
Remember that this blog is about you. Not about meeting the demands and conditions people may (could, would, should…) ask of you. The most important for you is to go through the process, in amy way you choose. When and if you share this, will be the moment you are ready for it. Not any moment sooner. Because the blog is about your process, but it should never be leading your process. First you, then your process, then your life and everyone in it and then your blog. If and when and how the book will come, time and you will decide. Because I’ll still be reading it. Let life lead you to your book, not letting your book lead you through life.

    • What a beautiful response, Yvonne. I agree. The book should be from your heart, and not cut to fit a certain publisher’s criteria. Writing from your heart, uncensored and in whatever form you choose will be the most valuable and true expression of yourself. A publisher that fits *your* requirements will come. That’s the way it should be.

      • Dear Danielle,

It is disturbing for me to learn and feel how easy it is for me to care, love and help other people. Wether they are friends, family, loved ones or strangers.
And how hard it is to give myself the same care, love and help. And to ask others to help me, to take care and to love me.

        • Yes, that’s understandable Yvonne. The good news is that the more disturbed, bothered and sick of it you become, the more you will make positive changes to love yourself more! So, that’s my recommendation – each time you become aware, try to push yourself to do an action – whether it’s doing an exercise, listening to a positive speaker, doing a meditation…. wtching a video on youtube, writing or reading a healthy blog 🙂 And then praise yourself for the action you’ve taken! So, congratulations even just for reaching out :)) I’m sending love and light to you! (I hope that you receive it ;))

  2. I believe the advice you got was very wise – finish the manuscript and then take the next step. Take all the time you need, make all the mistakes you need to make. Write two, three, four manuscripts, see which one speaks more to your heart. Once your work is finished it will fill you with the energy necessary to put it out into the world.

    All the best!

  3. Dearest Danielle,
Thank you for the update. I will miss the blog but affirm and understand your decision. It seems as if you have reached a place on your journey where you are listening deeply to your true self and taking actions from that sacred voice. As you well know, You can only be of true service to others if you are healthy, balanced and centered in yourself. So may courage and perseverance be your companions on this next part of the journey. May you continue to honor and take time to enter that Center found in the cave of the heart.
    Love and blessings,

    • Thank you Charlene….but don’t worry, I still plan to keep this blog alive! It is something that I love very much. But in the times you don’t hear from me, you’ll know why ~ 😉 Love & Blessings back to you always!!

  4. I believe you will make it. Your book will show your beautiful soul’s voice. I know you will write your story like a beautiful song. I am waiting for your book. Love you!

  5. As someone with several friends who have self published, I would seriously recommend this route.
It’s tough and when you do get a publisher it can mean losing sales records etc but overall it’s a way of getting yourself out there. Good luck with whatever path you choose.

  6. Writing isn’t necessarily a straight forward, quick process. Sometimes taking your time, even years, to write turns out better in the long run. I’m glad to hear you haven’t given up. And I’m glad you’re not worried about proceeding slowly but surely. ♥

  7. Thanks for the update – I check your blog fairly regularly and was indeed wondering about
the contest. I’m sorry that you didn’t win, but happy that it served it’s purpose in motivating you to really start getting your book together. You seem to be such a giving person, don’t be afraid to carve out time for yourself to write – it’s not selfish, and in my mind is just as important as making time to exercise or eat. I believe having a creative outlet also makes us more effective in general. Write for yourself, first, and the rest of us can only stand to benefit! Sorry if I sound too preachy. All the best to you!

  8. Hi Danielle. I just thought, after reading this latest entry, how great it would be for you to have an option to have an audio version of all your website posts available also! Because, you have a great spiritual development and gift. It would be that much more fun and interesting! Vinson
